Zinc

has a long track record as a roof covering going back some 200 years. Zinc is a natural material that is now alloyed with copper and titanium for enhanced mechanical properties. Zinc is either used in its natural bright state, leaving the development of its protecting oxide to nature or chemically pre-weathered and more recently bilacquered (colour coated) and pigment finishes are also available.

Aluminum

the introduction of aluminium to fully supported metal roofing is comparatively recent. Aluminium is a strong, lightweight material and is mostly used colour-coated having potential for modern urban developments. If you are using colour creatively to accentuate a feature, to group areas together or set them apart, we offer a range of pre-painted aluminium finishes.

Copper

Copper has been used for roof covering longer than any other metal and dates back to the Roman times. It develops a distinctive green oxide when fully weathered, which appears quite slowly in a mild environment. More recently copper has been alloyed with other elements to produce varying finishes – brass, bronze, brown and gold.

Steel

The development of modern stainless steel was made possible with the invention of the electric furnace in 1918. It is therefore a relatively recent contributor to the craft of sheet metal covering. Stainless steel is available in several finishes - matt, terne coat and bright.
