Carbon Footprint

Essentially a ‘carbon footprint’ is the measurement of impact your activity has on the environment, in terms of earth’s resources and pollution caused. In the case of construction this is an area being heavily scrutinised ever more worldwide. We hope to leave behind ‘eco-friendly’ buildings made from recyclable materials for future generations to enjoy and process in a non-harmful way once their useful life is complete.

Metal roofing and cladding is officially a prime element of constructing an environmentally friendly building with steel, copper and aluminium all achieving very high ‘A ratings’ within BREEAM’s guidelines. (BREEAM stands for Building Research Establishment’s Environmental Assessment Method). A good BREEAM certification will ensure a higher value for the accredited property that will be reflected in the re-sell value due to its future compliancy.

On projects where the green credentials are a requirement we will advise and can supply materials to certification. All Metal Roofing works only with manufacturers that source materials from sustainable and renewal sources. All metal we use for roofing and cladding carry certificates for their production energy consumption as well as recyclable properties and we can advise on these materials to suit your requirements. In principle metal roofs and metal cladding is 100% recyclable, call us should you need any further information in this field.
